IBLF Global facilitates high-level panel session at UN Anti-corruption Conference

20 December 2021

The session “Women as Drivers for Fair and Ethical Business” at the Conference of the State Parties of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) held in Sharm El-Sheikh this year. Brook Horowitz, CEO of IBLF Global and Business Integrity Advisor at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), moderated the panel session with four women entrepreneurs from Mexico (Erika Díaz Ulloa), Ghana (Linda O.fori-Kwafo), Thailand (Dr. Soipetch Resanond) and Palau (Irene Olkeriil) to exchange experience on how women can counter corruption as agents of social change.

It was exciting to hear about different interventions, ranging from training of women-led SMEs to the creation of grassroots social networks, always building on the distinctive features of the national and regional cultures.

This session aimed to present innovative approaches to how women, rebuilding their business after the pandemic, can act as a catalyst for the promotion of ethical business practices in their markets. According to the research conducted by the World Bank and the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC), women and men are affected differently by corruption; there is no evidence that women or men are less corruptible.

During the session, the panelists discussed collective action initiatives, training and capacity building materials, and studies and reports relating to women and anti-corruption. For a more complete list, visit the websites of
