Leaders meet at the 10th Regional Conference on Preventing and Combating Corruption.

December 2, 2019

Visit to sunny Hanoi culminated with the 10th Regional Conference on Preventing and Combating Corruption in Infrastructure Projects in Asia-Pacific.

On behalf of UNDP, Mr Brook Horowitz co-moderated the Business Integrity Meeting (BIM) on the first day. On the panel, (from left to right) Christian Wunderley, CAMS, LL.M.(Standard Chartered), Luobing Liu (International Federation of Consulting Engineers), Juhani Grossmann (USAID programme in Indonesia), Angela Joo-Hyun Kang (Global Competitiveness Forum, South Korea), Ryohei Gamada (Japan External Trade Organization) gave authoritative accounts about the corruption challenges in Asia-Pacific as seen by external investors, contractors and local players.

The break-out session enabled companies, NGOs and anti-corruption officials from over 31 countries to make concrete recommendations for future areas of focus. The event was rounded off by Heru Prasetyo of Indonesia Business Links who shared his hopes and fears for the future prospects for business integrity in the sector and the region.

Congratulations to all participants, to OECD and ADB for the conference, to Leah Ambler for co-moderating the BIM. And a special thanks to UNDP's Diana F Torres, Liviana Zorzi, Litta Viboonsonti, Wei Huang for all your hard work in making it happen
