IBLF Global offers training sessions to Malaysian SME leaders

29 September 2021

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) started a business integrity initiative for Malaysian small and medium enterprise (SMEs) partnering with active Multinational Corporations (MNCs). IBLF Global offered training sessions to SME leaders on corporate governance and integrity practices.

In June 2020, the promulgation of the Malaysian Anti-corruption Commission Act established new corporate liability. The act made companies liable for bribery and corrupt acts undertaken by employees and persons "associated with" the business. The UNDP project "Promoting a fair business environment in ASEAN" (FairBiz) piloted the initiative in Malaysia to help local SMEs adapt to the new reality.

Participants considered the training sessions were informative and comprehensive. As a part of their post training project, they implemented their learning in their business strategy. The training sessions motivated them to take the big substantial steps towards a clean business environment.

The positive feedback received from this initiative strengthened our confidence in our vision, our mission and our committed collective actions. This kind of path breaking initiatives has to be implemented more in the future to achieve a clean and sustainable business world.
