UNDP in Asia and the Pacific FairBiz Project on the publication of "Promoting Women Entrepreneurs as a Driver for Business Integrity: A Practical Approach"

01 March 2023

Congratulations to UNDP in Asia and the Pacific FairBiz Project on the publication of a new report on "Promoting Women Entrepreneurs as a Driver for Business Integrity: A Practical Approach".

The report highlights the importance of women empowerment, the link between entrepreneurship, equal opportunities and business integrity, and how women entrepreneurs can transform the narrative from "victim" to "drivers of change" in business and society. It's definitely worth a read.

This publication, which IBLF Global helped to plan and conceptualise while we were leading the business integrity channel in FairBiz, was preceded by several months of excellent practical work by the UNDP team and various stakeholders with Sara D Anzeo playing a critical coordinating role.

For our part, we would like to mention a few people who really helped to deliver the project on the ground which inspired the publication: in #thailand , the Federation of Business Professional Women of Thailand (FBPW) led by Dr Soipetch Resanond, and delivered by Tanatat Puttasuwan and Voravate Joe Chonlasin from the Asian Institute of Technology; in #indonesia, the She-Bid training programme led by Alliance for Integrity 's Susanne Friedrich and Faiza Hasan Chairullah A. Ghani, and delivered by Charlie Hartono. These innovative approaches to training and mentoring women entrepreneurs really helped to "test the theory".

Our interaction in 2021 with the #b20saudiarabia Anti-Corruption and Integrity Task Force's Danielle Cannata, Chris Costa, Nicolette Kost de Sèvres, Jan Dauman also set us on the right path. Last but not least, none of this would have been possible without FairBiz's Liviana Zorzi, thanks to whose energy and foresight this whole initiative came to fruition.

For us at IBLF Global, this is one of the themes we will be moving ahead within the years to come. We would be delighted to hear from any policy makers, business leaders, civil society leaders and the expert community who would be interested in working with us on this important topic.
