IBLF Global speaks about integrity culture in private hospitals at EPiHC quarterly session

20 June 2023

Brook Horowitz, CEO of IBLF Global, spoke this week about "Assessing the Integrity Culture in Private Hospitals: new approaches" at a quarterly session of IFC/World Bank's EPiHC (Ethical Principles in Health Care initiative).

The discussion, together with EPiHC members, ably chaired by Charles Dalton, was quite lively. During the presentation, Brook shared IBLF Global's experience of conducting an ethical culture review on a major hospital in a middle income country.

Brook shared that a clear understanding of the existing culture in the hospital is critical at the start of any ethical journey. The internal and external audits, the management reorganisation, the reporting systems, the enforcement of rules, the consistent and constant training and messaging - these will certainly be necessary - but only after hearing directly from managers and employees about their understanding of the values of the organisation and how they live and work by them. This way, the entire team can be fully brought along on what is likely to be a challenging organisational change.

EPiHC are currently inviting private healthcare providers, payors, and investors to sign up to the Principles. If you would like to know more about joining this dynamic collective action initiative in the healthcare sector, you can find more information on

Many thanks to Dr. Kirti Kataria and the EPiHC team for hosting and organising.
