B20 and UNDP publish a Joint Statement on accountability and anti-corruption

September 29, 2020

UNDP and B20 Saudi Arabia have published a Joint Statement on "Accountability and anti-corruption in the age of a global pandemic."

Addressed to the leaders of the G20 who will be meeting in Riyadh on 21st and 22nd November, the statement identifies a number of key anti-corruption priorities and puts forward recommendations for governments and business to work together in:

1. Promoting transparency and accountability within public health and emergency procurement;
2. Supporting national anti-corruption strategies including through collective action;
3. Facilitating the use of the new technologies and open data to prevent and detect corruption.

Many of these challenges are being addressed through projects run by the FairBiz Integrity Hub which UNDP has set up under the Promoting a Fair Business Environment in ASEAN project.

The FairBiz team is looking forward to working closely with B20 companies in ASEAN - and beyond - to transform these important ideas into real action and impact on the ground.
