Business associations lead the way in promoting business integrity in Viet Nam

Congratulations to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), UNDP and the British Embassy in Vietnam on the high visibility launch of a new Integrity Pledge signed by 11 industrial associations!
This is the latest output under the Government-Business Integrity Initiative which we helped to establish last year and which is being implemented by VCCI under the UNDP’s Regional Project “Promoting A Fair Business Environment in ASEAN”.
The pledge is a great way to introduce international standards to companies around the country that have not necessarily been part of global multinationals' supply chains or had the benefit of being exposed to modern management practices. In many of these companies, poor labour conditions, health and safety practices and governance have persisted.
The industrial associations' involvement marks the beginning of an important sectoral approach to raising business standards throughout the whole of Vietnam.
